There are many spiritual schools, or ways of viewing the world. I chuckle to myself when I compare all the religions and philosophies of the world to something like the factions of Planescape, a campaign setting of the Dungeons & Dragons game.
Each school of thought has many teachers great and small, and every person is both a teacher and a student. But each school and each teacher is only a perspective, and some teachers, flawed as we all are, may even have ulterior motives or agendas. We all want to create, and sometimes we recruit others in that process. Some, when they recruit others into the world they wish to create, do not even wish to inform others, lest they not want to participate.
Learn from all, the wise and the foolish. Walk in as many well-worn paths as you need to, and forge your own if you choose. Do not let others dictate who you are or what you should seek. Free your mind.
