There once was a young man who studied to become an IT professional. He took classes and studied hard to pass an industry certification exam. In doing so, he learned all about the information security principles of Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability, known as the CIA Triad.

He became very familiar with the concepts and learned to recognize it everywhere. At first it spooked him terribly just how much this concept saturated the local learning environment. It kept popping out at him in the most jarring ways as he tried to study. It was quite disconcerting, not to mention annoying as fuck. The volume on his instructional mp3s would suddenly spike, causing him a massive panic! All of the textbooks were so inundated with the concept that it was really quite invasive.
Clearly the publishers were trying to beat this concept senselessly into students, ad infinitum, even if they thought they were being subtle and clever about it (they weren't). It also kept getting in the way of him trying to learn anything new, because it was everywhere and stopping him from moving on to other topics. Eventually he wrote it off as lazy or incompetent editing, due at least in part to one of those mentioned on the dedication page.
